Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Xbox 360 Graphics
Call of Duty: Black Ops III is a first-person shooter game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision in 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops III were co-developed by Beenox and Mercenary Technologies. Due to the fact that the seventh generation consoles have less powerful hardware, there were numerous changes to the last generation version.
This was the last Call of Duty game to be released on seventh generation consoles.
Why They Suck
- A very noticeable drop in graphical quality with drastically different appearance of multiplayer maps, and the only two cinematic scenes made with the game's engine look awful.
- Most of the animations, especially the weapons reloading look loose and stiff.
- The maximum frame rate is reduced to 30 FPS in Zombies mode and varies between 30 and 60 FPS in multiplayer, a downgrade from previous Call of Duty games starting from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare where the frame-rate is locked at 60 FPS.
- The game lacks of one of the main features from the Call of Duty series, a Campaign Mode (so, the Nightmares Mode isn't available too). Apparently, it was planned to have the same campaign as the eighth-gen version, but due to the difficulty of developing for last-gen consoles and the deadlines, there wasn't time to polish it.
- Continuing from the previous point, a big amount of features from the main versions (PS4, Xbox One and PC) are missing, which are:
- Dead Ops Arcade 2: Cyber's Avengening.
- Multiplayer beta.
- Paintshop.
- Gunsmith.
- Ground War.
- Fracture.
- Prop Hunt.
- Infected.
- Nuk3town Map, as well its personalization pack.
- Season Pass.
- Theater Mode.
- Specialist's customization.
- Gibbing.
- Emblem Editor.
- Split Screen.
- Black Market (Supply Drops). This means that all Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary camos, new weapons, Calling Cards, Emblems, Stickers, Reticles, gear for the Specialists, taunts, all weapon attachment variants, and contracts are completely absent from this version of the game.
- Blackjack Mercenary.
- III Camouflage, Weaponized 115 Camouflage, and Cyborg Pack camos are not available.
- Cryptokeys and CODPoints. However, the players will only have Liquid Divinium for 3 vials, 15 vials with 2 bonus, 30 vials with 6 bonus, and 60 vials with 15 bonus.
- Awakening and The Giant are the only DLC available.
- This game was released at full price yet it's a heavily watered down port of Black Ops III.
- There's really no point in even playing this port anymore, because the player base in the last-gen platforms is basically dead. If you want to play Black Ops III, then play it on PS4, Xbox One or PC.
Redeeming Qualities
- Black Ops III all by itself is a good game, but the series does the game no justice.
- Has some of the original weapons in the console versions.
- This was the only way to escape the infamous Supply Drops, however you can't get new weapons to use at your disposal.
- Gameplay itself is intact from the 8th generation versions.
- It's $10 cheaper than the 8th generation versions, plus you get the original Black Ops for free, making it a decent deal.
- If you don't like the incredibly mind-screwing campaign, this is a good way to play the Multiplayer modes.
- Treyarch made fun of the awful looking Richtofen's face from the Shadows of Evil ending cutscene, using it as a jump-scare in Classified from Black Ops 4.
